New project: Radagast on eagle

This is my first post on this blog, so a little introduction maybe? I am stefaan, and I have got 2 main armies at the moment: mordor and galadhrim. I am at the moment working on the galadhrim and have got a lot finished already. Now the only problem with this army is that it has no big guys or monsters in it who draw atention.

So this is why I am starting this new project. I moulded radagast from the radagast on sleigh miniature as this pose seemed perfect to me to use. I have spread the legs more, and used 2 tiny magnets to magnetize radagast on the eagle. I will use some extra green stuff to hide the magnets and to hide the gaps where the eagle's wings start. And afterwards painting of course!

New project: Radagast the Brown on Sleigh

Today I finished cleaning Radagast the Brown on Sleigh and is ready for basecoating. I really like the miniature and can't wait to get started. The cast was very good and I had little work to get it cleaned and fitted.

I'm going to work on this project while I'm working on my Rohan project 'Visiting Edoras in 2015' so you will get updates of both (alternatingly).

Unboxing: Lake-Town Militia Swordsmen

While waiting for the next Smaug release ;-), I bought the Lake-Town Militia Swordmen. When I saw the new releases, I like the Lake-Town Militia Swordmen immediately. I like the bravery of these fellows.

If you awaken that beast, you'll destroy us all!

This is a great miniature. I didn't know how great this miniature was, until I opened the blister. I also like Bard as character in the movies.

It's the first time I've used glazes for applying highlights and shades (on the cloak). So any tips/comments are welcome.

I'd rather share a drink with cockroaches than sit next to you!

Aah Saturday again!! So time for a painttable update! Last Thursday we had one of our Fellowship paint evenings and I started work on a miniature for Freebooter's Fate called Curly Ann. Well actually I started painting it a long long time ago, but never got very far. So I picked it up again and started with going over the paint allready on there.

A week or 2 ago me and some Fellowship friends bought a dvd set Masterworks Painting with Jessica Rich and I have been trying to apply some of the techniques that are shown on the dvd. It is going to be a hell of a learning curve, but I'm liking it!

Visiting Edoras in 2015

In 2015 I'm going to visit Edoras a lot. I'm a big fan of the Rohan realm and I've a lot Rohan miniatures so it's time to get started. I'm going to this in little steps because I want also to paint some miniatures from 'The Hobbit' range.

I also want to improve my basing, so any tips are welcome.
I'm first going to paint one warband to ally with Minas Tirith (250 army). But by the end I want a 250 Rohan army.

Because I'm more a painter then a gamer I chose interesting miniatures instead of a winning army ;-)

Warriors of Rohan
Riders of Rohan
Of course I've to include the Basic troops ;-)

Éomer, Marshal of the Riddermark
"What business does an elf, man, and a dwarf have in the Ridder-Mark? Speak quickly."

Éowyn, Shield Maiden of Rohan
"The women of this country learned long ago, those without swords can still die upon them. I fear neither death nor pain. "

Meriadoc, Knight of the Mark
"I offer you my service, Theoden King. "

The Fellowship of the Miniatures Oberonn Adventure (11/12/2014)

We didn't play this evening but had been painting all evening. Next time we must take some more pictures but I think we were too busy painting ;-)
We asked and gave advice and learned from each other. This was our last Oberonn adventure this year. See you all next year.
