I have been terribly buzy the last few weeks! So much that I had no time to take some pictures of the finished models. I made some more progress for the scouring of the Shire campaign. And ofcourse War in Rohan happend.
I bought myself the rulebook, new models and the rereleases I still needed. The list of models I still need to complete my collection is decreasing rapidly. Only eight more models to go!
Meanwhile I started with the Rohan fortification set. Absolute value for money. I only put together one of the pallisade sets and 2 houses. Still so much to build...
I also bougth some Glow in the dark paint. Now I have a real ghostly army.

Scouring of the Shire part II: Hobbits and wildmen of Dunland
More progress on the scouring of the Shire campaign. I painted up some wildmen. I had themlaying around for a few years now. They make some excellent proxys for ruffians.
I also started on het hobbit forces and painted up two of the new heroes: Will Whitfoot and Baldo Tulpenny. Once again, excellent Forgeworld models!

Campaign update
"You are soldiers of Gondor! No matter what comes through that gate, you will hold your ground!"
Gandalf the white
We continued our Gondor at War campaign. After an epic victory for good in the "atop of the walls scenario we played "The gate is breached".
The forces of good prepared to hold the court from the endless hords of orcs. It was an interesting game. But we soon released that if you take away the terror special rule from the trolls they are absolutely not worth their points. In just two turns of combat and spending 8 points of might the trolls lay dead and Gondor stood a chance once more.
They held the lines and secured another victory for good.
Next up we played "The streets of Minas Tirith". This was an epic scenario! So much is going on at the same time an literary everywhere on the board fighting broke out. The forces of good where once again lucky as the deployment of my opponent favored the fast moving Shadowfax. Gandalf reached Pippin sourcerous blasting his way through the board.
Having played this scenario we both had the idea that things could have gone completely different if we changed the deployment of our warbands a bit. I will definetly replay this scenario as it is the most interesting from the campaign so far.
We also played "The Witch-King's arrival" minigame. Some rules are a bit unclear and all depended a bit too much on luck. Good won once again but it coud perfectly be the other way around.
At last a small glimps of my latest project. Some spooky boys:

Scouring of the Shire Part I: Ruffians
Ruffians!
With the new scouring of the Shire supplement I had to paint up my Ruffians. I have all the models for the campaign. So I started preparing them for once Gondor at war is finished.
I started with the Ruffian leaders and a small warband:

Casualties!
What a joy, the latest Made to order. Finally a rerelease of the casualty set.
I was searching for a few years now, but I never could buy them without selling a kidney first. So I painted them up as soon as they arrived.
Meanwhile we also continued with the Gondor at war campaign. In the latest battle "atop of the wall" the good side claimed an excellent victory. This evening the next battles will follow!

Down down to Goblin town!
"Goblin Mercenaries! No more than a hundred!"
Dwalin, Battle of the five armies
I painted up my warband of Goblin mercenaries. Normally I love painting forgeworld models but these are terrible. I don't know what is wrong with them but they aren't digitally sculpted for sure. They feel like bad failcast.
A pluspoint for them, they are really good in game. I played a few times with my goblin town and they are an excellent edition to the army and give them some mobility

The three hunters
I painted up the new three hunter models. Lovely casts, a joy to paint!
I'm really fond of the new models, keep them coming.

Azog and Thorin
I decided to treat myself and paint something completely different. Azog and Thorin on ice. Lovely forgeworld models. One of the next project in the painting queue will be a warband of goblin mercenaries. So Azogs legion will be lurking at the horizon ;).
