There and back again..... Sort of...

Hi guys! It's me! Ben!!
Who??
Ben!
Who?
Me, Ben!!

Ah it's good to be back on the bloggosphere!! As you may (or not, whatever) have noticed, I've been away from the bloggosphere for some time. Life, summer, stuff happened. Summer is still here, kinda, stupid rain, but I thought a new blog post was long overdue. So here I am. So let's get down to business.

Gold... gold beyond measure... (first update smaug)

I started working on the big guy. It took me already 2 days to clean up and assemble him including all the greenstuffing. I kept him in 4 separate pieces (wings, base, body) to be able to paint him decently.

Afterwards, I started on the base. That took me another day and the pillars, the arkenstone and bilbo still need to be done. But I'm really satisfied with how the treasure is looking! It really is a fantastic miniature with amazing detail, and an almost perfect cast.

The Fellowship of the Miniatures Oberonn Adventure (06/08/2015)

We played Battle Companies again and it was great. We tried out the new work in progress rules (https://battlecompanies.wordpress.com/). We don't have a lot of pictures because we were so busy playing ;-).

I'm back

After a small hiatus, (exams and a long holiday), I picked up my brushes once again.

Blue cave drake

I had loads of spare time this week, so I painted up my cave drake. I really love this model! Took me 2 half days to get him finished. The model itself is fantastic to paint up. The detailed surfaces really helped to get a nice drybrushing effect. I am pretty satisfied about the colors. Maybe the blue is a bit too bright but I like it that way.

Mirkwood rangers painted

I painted up my mirkwood rangers as a support to my elf army. In my opinion they are some of the most beautiful figures of the whole range. Certainly the most detailed plastics! Their fingers are even all separate. I got these miniatures as a gift from my sister so I put a lot of effort in painting them. I am really satisfied about how they turned out, and hope they won't die too fast ingame. I have got the captains and tauriel to paint up next. Only not sure if I should paint their eyes too, I could ruin the face by trying to put eyes in.
