An update on my Night's watch army. Starterset nearly complete!

Clearing the backlog - Hero time!

Time for some clearing of the backlog. I started with a bunch of heroes. Some good old classic models.

 

Gundabad Berserkers

Small update. I painted some Gundabad berserkers I had laying around for a few years now:

 

I painted up my second Balrog. Tried to give him a different touch so he ended up with green flames. 

Next Balrog will be blue :D

2022: the overview

And yet another year has passed. Covid is behind us and everything went back to normal. Our gaming scene had some damage from Covid with the tournament scene collapsing. But things took a turn for the better. Our club is growing and we had a succesfull tournament once again. The game is still alive and well with some awesome releases this year.

So lets see if I reached my yearly goals:

• Paint more models then I buy
• Buy more models then GW releases
• Paint at least a 100 models

In total I own 2,845 Lotr models and 2,159 of them are painted. So I realised that I bought way more new models then previous years, 122 in total. But I also painted a lot. 246 more models join the painted legions.

Last but not least a have a 10 year goal. In 10 years I wanted to end my backlog. I will now start year 7 with an estimated delay of nearly a year. So we will see what the new year will bring.

Army of Thror

Last update for 2022: I managed to paint up a complete new army in december. I thoroughly enjoyed painting these models. The start of the Hobbit range was a true piece of art with all those lovely sculpts. 

So I managed to paint up: 12 Grimhammers, 24 Erebor dwarf warriors and 5 heroes.

 

Rangers of the North

I painted up the last batch of Dunedain for my Rangers army. I realy enjoyed painting these sculps. Lovely models full of detail and a nice addition to the army.

 

The grey company and Halbarads

Update time. I continued working on the grey company and the three different Halbarad poses. Beautiful models and another army that is nearing completion.
