Brushes

I started this hobby with the Games Workshop brushes. I used them for about two years never questioning if there're better brushes. At this moment I only have a large drybrush:

Corvus' Miniatures

We’ve a great partnership with Corvus' Miniatures:

aaaah Corvus... Yesss. Miniatures need painting...  right? And for that our fellowship attracted the very best in a wide area. Corvus aka Gerrie supports our hobby by providing all important painting tips and tools on his website and vlog, judging services in our annual painting competition and even exclusive workshops for members.

Some of his great Hobbit miniatures:

Oberonn

We’ve a great partnership with Oberonn:

Our local game store and structural sponsor. Oberonn provides us with a great place to fight our (miniature) battles, scenery and support in promoting the fellowship. Oberonn’s crew-of war has a high rate of availability and is more than happy to help with different gaming systems. They’re our third home (1=Home, 2=Middle Earth, 3=Oberonn ;-))

Parva Mundi

We’ve a great partnership with Parva Mundi.

Parva Mundi creates and designs miniature landscapes and castles. As a club, we build scenery together with our other partner Oberonn (our local game store) and have the same goal as Parva Mundi and that is to build worlds for playing The Lord of the Rings / The Hobbit Strategy Battle game.

So keep following our blog for future (scenery) updates and of course follow Parva Mundi: https://www.facebook.com/Parva-Mundi-559692587514085/

Here’re some creations from Parva Mundi

In November I finished Aragorn (Pelennor) and Gundabad Orcs, see photos below. And I mainly continued working on Radagast the Brown on Sleigh:

Army of the dead

I finished my army of the dead, or almost. I still need one rider of the dead pose. So let this be a shout out to all of you guys. If someone has one for sale please contact me and I will gladly pay retail price. I know they are still available on the webstore but I don't want to buy a bunch more just to find out none of them being the pose I still need.

I gave the army some simple drybrushes and picked out the metallic details.

A Must-Have for painting: daylight lamps

Yesterday I discovered a Must-Have for painting Miniatures: daylight lamps. This is just amazing. While painting you see more missed spots, the colors looking better.

In the pictures below you don't see a big difference but in real live, it's a very big difference.

Gundabad Orcs

This week I finished the Gundabad Orcs (including captain). I initially bought these miniatures to expand my Azog's hunters army but when I opened the blisters, I really liked the models.

Crisis 2015: An Unexpected Journey

Today was a good day, today was a great day, today was crisis. Crisis is a miniature convention organised by the Tin Soldiers of Antwerp. We, some members of our fellowship of the ring gaming group, went to the convention, hoping to find some new treasures.

More tentacles and some warriors of Rohan

It has been a while since my last update. I have been busy gaming, instead of painting.
Three weeks ago we held a tournament at our local game store. And I won with my Rohan/Gondor force :-D.

Meanwhile I painted up some tentacles to join up with the Watcher himself:

Battle At The Mines Of Oberonn - An impression

Last Saturday we had our very first Lord Of The Rings / Hobbit tournament. The Battle at the Mines Of Oberonn. Not the least bit inspired by a certain scene from a certain movie ;)

Below you can find a little report of the tournament through my eyes. I heard quite a few mmm's and oooohhh's during the day, saw a lot of smiling faces and some quirky dice rolls. So I will keep to the basics as it is impossible to get into detail of every battle.

Battle at the Mines of Oberonn report by Coen Uyl

Thanks Coen Uyl for the report!
Source http://www.gwhobby.net/forum/index.php?topic=20740.0 (in Dutch)

Eomer, knight of the Pellenor, the blue wizards and Angbor and his clansmen

First up was Eomer, knight of the Pellenor. I need him for an upcoming tournament, so he was the obvious choice to paint up first.
